Synopsis

At 29, Soumaya feels the need to travel to Algeria to connect with the world her mother, Malika, left behind when she migrated to Barcelona. With her childhood friend behind the camera, Soumaya begins to question her own place in her family’s story and to feel the weight of traditions that have shaped her life. Amid family archives, conversations with her grandmother, and calls with her mother during Ramadan, what starts as a personal search transforms into a journey of understanding about a family bond marked by exile. Three generations of women, each in their own way, try to find common ground despite the distances and beliefs that separate them.
