Hold Time for Me

Synopsis

In post-oil Angola, photographer TwentyEight embarks on a secret mission to find missing biologist Zoila. Their goal: relocate the sinking capital, Luanda. Concealing his true motive, TwentyEight joins Zoila on a road trip to locate an old poem and smuggle fungi batteries. As Luanda faces calls for independence, the duo reunites with old comrades, each with unique talents. Discovering the poem's power, TwentyEight suspects a hidden town. Confessions strain alliances, forcing him to choose between allegiance and love. Abandoning Luanda, he joins Zoila in the desert, where time blurs. A poignant end unfolds as TwentyEight loses and finds connection in an abandoned town, making a final call to his mother as Zoila peacefully passes away.
